UN Women
UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women
Gender taxation and economic empowerment
Economic freedom should be guaranteed for all women around the world. Nevertheless, products targeted to women are still subjected to a differentiated treatment even when it comes to taxation. One of the United Nations' main goals is gender equality. However, that must also be reflected on the market. To ensure that women have the opportunity to economically empower themselves and become financially independent, they must be aware of what factors are hindering their progress. In that sense, delegates will need to analyze what should be the correct approach when dealing with Gender Taxation to empower women.

Alessia Lara
Committee Director
Hello everybody! My name is Alessia Lara and I have the pleasure of being your director in this edition of ISDMUN. A few facts you should know about me are that I am 18 years old and a first year student at Politecnico di Torino in Italy pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. In my free time I enjoy playing videogames, reading, and doing MUN. In fact, UN Women is my favorite committee because of the creative freedom it gives delegates to discuss and solve the topics at hand. I am very excited to meet you all and hear what you have to say during the debate. Good luck, have fun, and see you soon!
